About the role
- Grow a portfolio of major donors and corporate partners, personally identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting prospects across Canada.
- Drive new business through a hunter mindset, proactively sourcing prospects, opening doors, and advancing high-value opportunities tied to mission priorities.
- Secure significant gifts and multi-year partnerships , developing compelling proposals and customized engagement strategies.
- Deliver high-touch stewardship, ensuring every donor feels informed, valued, and connected to the impact of their giving.
- Engage and lead volunteer champions, leveraging their networks to expand reach, unlock opportunities, and strengthen donor confidence.
- Collaborate across the organization, aligning donor interests with mission programs, research initiatives, and community engagement priorities.
- Manage pipeline and performance with discipline, using CRM tools to track progress, forecast revenue, and ensure movement toward ambitious annual goals.
Requirements
- Fundraising expertise and a passion for building trust-based relationships that lead to a meaningful, long-term philanthropic support
- A hunter’s mindset – the drive to seek out new prospects, open doors, and confidently move opportunities toward transformational giving
- Strong face-to-face communication skills, with willingness to travel and meet donors in person across the region and country.
- A collaborative spirit, contributing to a team that sets bold goals and works collectively to advance our mission
- The ability to connect with diverse donor audiences, from executives to community champions, and cultivate relationships that endure
- Creativity and courage, with a willingness to test new approaches, refine your strategy and lead by example
- Flexibility in a dynamic environment, stepping into events, donor meetings, volunteer engagements, and cross-campaign opportunities as needed.
