About the role

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the Loan Production Office (LPO), ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee a team of at least two full-time LPO employees or the equivalent; mentor and coach employees for performance and development.
  • Lead hiring and firing decisions and conduct regular business planning and sales strategy meetings with LPO employees.
  • Maintain open-door policy; ensure employees comply with compliance training and continuing education requirements.
  • Drive mortgage loan product sales indirectly by supporting staff and developing relationships with prospects, customers, and referral partners.
  • Educate customers on mortgage loan process, products, pricing, and payment structures; assist in structuring loans to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor loan pricing management, report suspected fraud, and safeguard borrower non-public personal information.
  • Assist in managing expenses, P/L, and overall business strategy to enhance branch success.
  • Enforce non-producing manager restriction: prohibited from any loan origination activities.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in mortgage lending and loan production management.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, pricing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to drive sales and business growth while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Proficiency in mortgage software tools and financial analysis.
  • Commitment to team development and customer education.
  • Must supervise/oversee at least two full-time LPO employees or equivalent.
  • Responsible for hiring and firing input and talent management decisions.
  • More than 50% of working hours dedicated to management and supervision of LPO employees.
  • Meet or support meeting minimum monthly production levels of five funded mortgage units per month (bank policy).
  • Strictly prohibited from engaging in any loan origination activities (non-producing manager).
