About the role

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including licensing agreements, distribution agreements, vendor contracts, and artist agreements
  • Ensure that contractual terms and conditions protect the organization's interests and comply with legal requirements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address legal risks and negotiate favorable terms
  • Provide counsel on intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark, and licensing issues
  • Conduct due diligence on intellectual property rights associated with acquisitions, collaborations, and partnerships
  • Advise on the protection and enforcement of the organization's intellectual property assets
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices to ensure compliance
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks
  • Provide guidance on data protection, privacy, and security matters
  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders on various business initiatives and operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are incorporated into business strategies
  • Assess potential legal and business risks, propose mitigation strategies, and offer creative solutions to complex issues
  • Assist in managing disputes and potential legal claims
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel in litigation matters, including strategy development and document review
  • Provide support in preparing legal documents and gathering evidence for legal proceedings

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction
  • 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, intellectual property law, and commercial transactions
  • Experience in the entertainment industry or related fields is preferred
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in work
