About the role
- Own the editorial calendar for all key social channels.
- Develop and execute a social content strategy aligned with product launches, community initiatives, and developer events.
- Write and produce platform-native posts, threads, memes, and short-form videos tailored for technical audiences.
- Partner with developer advocates, engineers, and product teams to turn technical milestones into compelling narratives.
- Surface and amplify developer stories, open-source projects, and community contributions.
- Actively participate in online developer conversations (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, GitHub discussions).
- Respond to questions, feedback, and trends in real time with an authentic, developer-friendly voice.
- Grow and nurture relationships with developer influencers and micro-communities.
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, sentiment, community growth).
- Run experiments (copy variations, post formats, timing) and apply learnings to optimize performance.
- Report insights to leadership and advocate for strategies that resonate with devs.
- Collaborate closely with Developer Relations, Product Marketing, and Brand Design.
- Ensure consistent voice and tone across blog posts, events, and social.
Requirements
- 3–5 years experience in social media management, ideally in a developer-focused, SaaS, or tech company.
- Deep familiarity with developer communities and platforms (Twitter/X, GitHub, Reddit, Discord, YouTube).
- Creative instincts for memes, trends, and moments that land authentically with developers.
- Strong copywriting and creative concepting skills with the ability to adapt tone between playful, professional, and technical.
- Comfort working with engineers, product managers, and advocates to translate technical concepts into approachable content.
- Data-driven mindset—experience with analytics tools and A/B testing.
- Experience with video editing or live streaming.
- Active presence in developer spaces (your own Twitter/X, GitHub contributions, blog, or newsletter).
- Familiarity with open-source culture and community dynamics.
