About the role

Act as Temporal's primary customer-facing technical leader within the Growth team, located in the Western United States
Work directly with prospects and customers to assess suitability of their applications for Temporal’s platform
Educate customers and prospects on the technical benefits and limitations of Temporal’s platform and cloud service
Position Temporal against competing technologies and architectural patterns
Foster adoption and expansion of Temporal in customer engineering organizations and increase production usage
Partner closely with Account Executives to develop and execute comprehensive account plans
Manage and nurture relationships with technical decision-makers, owning the technical relationship and showcasing technical advantages of Temporal’s cloud service
Build application prototypes and provide architectural, development, build, and deployment guidance to customer engineering teams

Reside in the Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA areas
Exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing
Deep understanding of distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices
Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C# or PHP
Firm grasp of operational considerations in production environments, such as security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations
Ability to provide insightful advice on architectural topics, including application patterns and platform architectures
Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with commonly used application development and production services
Ability to serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with scoping and sizing opportunities and offering guidance on technical fit and challenges
