About the role
- Provide backend support for Oracle databases within the PeopleSoft environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to database operations and PeopleSoft applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement database changes as needed.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Assist in the implementation of database security measures and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Stay updated on the latest Oracle database features and PeopleSoft enhancements to continuously improve support practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Oracle database administration, preferably within a PeopleSoft environment.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL for database querying and scripting.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft applications and their database structures (preferred).
- Experience with database backup and recovery tools (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in Oracle database administration are a plus (preferred).
