💰 £65,000 - £70,000 per year
About the role
- Reports to the CEO and partners with Head of Ops in London and Berlin and Leadership Team
- Support a team of ~50 employees across London and Berlin
- Combine strategic people initiatives with hands-on HR execution
- Lead organisation design, change management, recruitment, succession and performance management, and culture initiatives
- Collect periodic employee surveys and ensure appropriate action plans
- Build and roll out comprehensive L&D strategy and training plans; support career conversations
- Manage employee relations, troubleshooting and resolving complex situations
- Ensure compliance with UK and German employment laws and prepare for UK Employment Rights Bill changes
- Create and implement HR policies reflecting hospitality-minded culture
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration across both markets
- Oversee HR operations including payroll (with finance), leave management, HR systems, salary benchmarking and reviews
- Lead evolution of performance approach and talent review processes; identify automation and scaling opportunities
- Guide organisational design and change with clear communication and engagement
- Act as culture and values champion; drive engagement, onboarding, offboarding and wellbeing initiatives
- Integrate DEI into daily practices and support managers with team wellbeing and development
- Handle employee queries and complaints; partner with managers to improve relationships, morale, retention
- Deliver regular people metrics and reporting to inform leadership decisions
- Regular travel expected to Berlin and other cities as the business grows
Requirements
- Experienced generalist HR experience
- At least 2 years in a management role
- Dynamic SME background would be useful
- Experience in hospitality, real estate, or customer-service focused industries
- Understanding of flexible workspace or property management operations preferred
- Good knowledge of UK employment law
- Knowledge of German employment law helpful
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employee relations
- Experience with HRIS systems and HR analytics (Techspace uses Personio)
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (German advantageous)
- Ideally holds a CIPD qualification
- Hands-on; can both strategise and execute
- Confident to challenge the Leadership Team
- Experience as an HR partner with strong customer-service mindset
- Experience working with multi-site teams across multiple locations
- Understanding of tech company culture and workspace needs
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
