About the role
- Oversee 2nd-line oversight activities and monitoring of the AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC compliance programs for covered TD businesses and legal entities
- Lead execution of ML/TF and Sanctions risk assessments across US units and segments
- Govern, oversee, and execute ML/TF, Sanctions, and ABAC risk assessments and identify enhancements to Risk Assessment Methodology and processes
- Manage critical program initiatives and handle complex/high-risk matters and escalations
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups across the bank in both 1LoD and 2LoD functions and business lines
- Provide people management leadership: hire, set goals, develop staff, manage performance, support compensation decisions, promote teamwork, and handle disciplinary actions
- Provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, and executives
- Act as key contact for business management, regulators, and external/internal auditors; coordinate regulatory examinations and audit responses
- Develop and oversee implementation of business line policies and procedures and operationalize business plans for AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC programs
- Deliver subject matter expertise on customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, policy, governance, training and compliance assurance and testing
- Manage day-to-day operations of the department and participate in enterprise or customer-focused special projects on behalf of FCRM
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years experience
- Experience in leading risk assessment execution providing credible challenge in response to stakeholder self-assessments and data validation
- Experience with targeted risk assessments (preferred)
- Experience developing processes and controls
- AML, Sanctions, or ABAC Subject Matter Expertise
- Ability to coordinate across multiple management levels, jurisdictions, business lines and support functions
- Proficiency with standard computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- People management experience (hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions)
