About the role
- Lead and develop a team of audit professionals overseeing audits/projects
- Provide guidance, leadership, coaching and development to staff
- Hire, set goals, manage performance and disciplinary actions
- Oversee large, complex and diverse audit teams
- Act as strategic advisor to leadership on portfolio and financials
- Facilitate strategic audit discussions and provide thought leadership
- Manage audits for multiple complex businesses or global lines
- Plan audit engagements and ensure adequate risk coverage
- Act as lead audit advisor and report on emerging trends
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines
- Lead relationships with business lines and control functions
- Forecast initiatives and coordinate prioritization of portfolio
- Oversee implementation of internal audit action/remediation plans
- Manage team targets, objectives, recruitment and succession planning
- Coordinate resources to complete audit assignments by deadlines
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- People management experience leading teams greater than 5
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience in audit, financial crimes, or related
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and internal audit frameworks
