About the role
- Field Engineer – Part-Time (Contract) based in Slough, Swindon, Newbury & Reading
- 3 month fixed-term contract (with possible extension), working 5 days per week
- Provide technical support and outstanding customer service to clients across Berkshire and Wiltshire
- Hands-on role requiring technical expertise and problem-solving to maintain IT infrastructure
- Part of a team of 11 supporting 4 key clients
- Respond to escalated technical support tickets from the 1st Line Service Desk
- Conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting to identify root causes
- Provide technical guidance to end-users remotely and on-site where required
- Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system
- Monitor system performance, identify risks, and implement preventative measures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives with feedback and recommendations
Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in a service desk role, with a solid track record of supporting users
- Confidence working directly with clients and building positive, professional relationships
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies
- Clear, friendly, and effective communication skills
