About the role
- Work strategically with customers, Product Line, Commercial, and Projects teams to ensure alignment of engineering support to enable the desired orders growth
- Own the technical strategy for optimizing technical solutions for customer needs, across new units & services
- Responsible for the process and execution for project risk assessment prior to contract signature and represent this assessment at commercial milestones/R-table reviews
- Own all risk assessment and optimization tools & processes across the business, enabling faster response times, better customer optimizations and engineering productivity
- Support strategy for fleet leader launch & validation by working with commercial team to identify right opportunities, proper risk assessment, and customer acceptance
- Drive process & standardization around product offerings including simplified product portfolio & strategy for Design to Orders (DTOs) and customer options
- Help GE customers be more competitive and productive operating their GE assets through this offering
- Provides engineering leadership to deliver projects with safety, quality, and cost
- This includes delivery/maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOM), turbine software/parameters, and configuration accuracy for turbine & SCADA Systems.
- Execute Design to Orders (DTOs) as needed to deliver custom solutions where needed
- Lead Pre-COD PAC case resolution on time to support project fulfillment and customer need
- Act as a technical focal point for customers & projects organization during project execution to certificate of delivery for the project, including New Units, Repower, and Services
- Own and improve processes for engineering deliverables during project execution, ensuring quality and on time capabilities in the full scope of Project Engineering
- Provide feedback to Systems & Subsystems teams within engineering for opportunities to improve our products to better fulfill customer needs
- Lead a team of engineers in work assignment, setting priorities & expectations, and overall coaching and development, including competency assessment, training plans, and performance evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in design, project leadership, and/or customer support
- Clear communication across multiple stakeholders, including internal and external customers
- Demonstrated ability to work through difficult problems & develop solutions
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated people leadership experience
