You will be part of an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages are aligned with our standard offering
This position will provide the technical coordination for the plant layouts, seismic analysis, Soil-Structure Interaction, and construction drawings utilizing engineering analysis and design tools such as ANSYS-APDL / SASSI / Mathcad for the development and detailed design of complete systems and building structures
You will identify any site-specific technical departures related to balance of plant systems, plan the engineering solution to those departures, and work with engineering teams to provide associated costs, cycle times and risks
You will establish and maintain effective discipline specific design interfaces and document these in deliverables that become part of proposals and/or contracts
Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal engineering teams
Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies on technical issues as required
Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks associated with different opportunities
Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH
Support GEVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification
Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
Master’s or PhD degree in structural engineering Discipline or similar (desired)
Professional Engineer registration in one or more state (desired)
Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations (desired)
High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance (desired)
EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant (desired)
Understanding of nuclear industry and technology (desired)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (desired)
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business (desired)
