About the role
- Drive the creation of innovative, tailor-made reinsurance structures that address complex client needs while optimizing company risk appetite and market positioning
- Oversee the development of sophisticated Excel-based financial models and deliver high-impact analytics that shape strategic decision-making
- Provide authoritative assessment of key drivers of financial performance in life insurance portfolios with exceptional precision
- Independently lead complex deals from origination to treaty signature, orchestrating internal and external partners, managing critical timetables, and developing strategic documentation for approval processes
- Apply advanced communication and negotiation skills to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus in challenging environments
- Direct collaboration with Client Markets, Business Development, and Financial Markets teams to develop market-leading presentations and client solutions
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth and building organizational capability
- Take full responsibility for transaction targets in key EMEA markets by defining strategy, pioneering new solutions, and cultivating high-level external networks
Requirements
- Qualified actuary or finance professional with 10+ years of experience in transactions, reinsurance, capital management or financial market risk.
- Excellent ability to interpret actuarial model output with regards to drivers of surplus emerging and other financials drivers of life insurance portfolios.
- Expert in cash flow modeling.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, balance sheet impacts, and capital management concepts (funding, ALM, CoC).
- Strong knowledge of risk-based capital, Solvency II and IFRS frameworks.
- Experience in structing complex L&H transactions.
- Strong transaction management skills.
- Strong knowledge of some of the core EMEA markets in respect of underlying products, clients, regulatory regimes and transaction activity is a plus.
- Experience in C-suite dialogue.
- Advanced negotiation skills with proven ability to influence across functions and geographies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with German or French preferred.
- Additional European languages would be advantageous.
