Cultivate relationships with suppliers for the assigned contracts. Maintains supply chain redundancy where possible to achieve best cost and quality.
Maintain quality assurance and contract compliance in accordance with government requirements and AS9120B standards. May include First Article Testing and other quality test procedures, including Source Inspection and UID requirements.
Responsible for obtaining competitive current pricing, lead time and performing data entry. Manage workload for assigned commodities and/or specific contract items.
Manages technical data pertaining to NSNs listed in contract. Provides assistance to Buyer/Expeditor and suppliers regarding drawing and POT data requirements.
Work with the internal and external stakeholders to address non-conformances and bring to resolution
Assists with special pricing projects such as market baskets for Business Development proposals.
Creates and maintains work instructions and process maps for the Buyer Analyst role.
Issue purchase orders for assigned commodities and or specific contract items. Follows up on backorders, expedites delivery or reschedules delivery of orders.
Requirements
Associate degree, or 3 years of procurement experience. Familiarity with various MILSPEC requirements, Source Inspections, UID, and technical data packages, preferred.
Proven experience in procurement, or supply chain preferred. May include military personnel who have been formerly training or have relevant experience in lieu of civilian experience.
Excellent negotiating skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Highly meticulous and organized to execute multiple projects at once, adhering to deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret technical data and drawings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to engage in and exchange communication with others in all situations.
PC proficiency in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software a plus. Proficiency using JDEdwards EnterpriseOne Software highly preferred.
