About the role

  • As an Outside Sales Representative, you’ll be responsible for generating new business while strengthening long-term relationships with existing customers. You’ll engage with multiple buying influencers—including engineering, purchasing, quality, and senior leadership—to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and close business.
  • You’ll execute a strategic sales plan for your territory, develop key accounts, and play a critical role in Electro-Matic’s continued growth.
  • Grow revenue by managing and expanding existing customer accounts
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory
  • Build trusted relationships at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality, and executive leadership
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with current and prospective customers
  • Present product solutions through demonstrations, samples, and technical discussions
  • Prepare pricing proposals, quotes, and sales contracts
  • Forecast future business and maintain accurate pipeline and project data
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to support customer needs
  • Resolve customer issues related to deliveries, orders, or project requirements
  • Represent Electro-Matic at trade shows and industry events
  • Stay current on products, technologies, and industry trends through training and professional development
  • Manage travel and entertainment expenses within budget guidelines

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or a closely related industry
  • Experience with Siemens products strongly preferred
  • Strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use a CRM application
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Travel will be required including overnight stays
