Accurately and efficiently receive warehouse stock and ship all merchandise related to the distribution function of the company.
Perform assigned tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, receiving and storage of merchandise, picking and packing of customer orders and stock transfers.
Perform inventory cycle counts as requested and physical inventory as scheduled.
Keep supervisor informed of shortages, overages or damaged merchandise and unresolved customer complaints.
Verify accurate count of incoming or outgoing materials and merchandise and maintain accurate open and closed purchase order receipt files.
Promptly report any major differences in book quantities versus actual on hand quantities of merchandise, stock runs, stock outages, and vendor over shipments or duplications.
Ensure the integrity of data entry on the receipt of goods process and initiate receiving or shipping reports as required.
Assist manager in safeguarding inventory against pilferage or theft and maintain good housekeeping in the warehouse.
May pack orders, write labels, weigh cartons, prepare parcel post and UPS shipment forms; perform counter sales and deliver merchandise as required.
Assist in taking the annual inventory and perform any other duties that supervisor feels necessary to fulfill company objectives.
Follow proper safety procedures, report accidents in accordance with company policies, and use required safety apparel and equipment.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to complete company training program.
Possess good communication skills.
Possess valid drivers license.
Read, write and fully comprehend delivery tickets, packing lists, invoices, transfer request, special material instructions, written and oral messages, M.S.D.S. literature and other information pertaining to the job.
Ability to operate various sized delivery vehicles within legal limits.
Ability to operate forklifts (Various sizes).
Ability to lift objects of varying weight and carry a distance of twenty yards.
Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb up and down trucks, ladders, shelving, etc.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and at remote mining and industrial locations; operate vehicles on narrow, curvy and rough roads.
Use of safety apparel and equipment as required by law and company policy.
Basic computer skills; use of company computer system and calculator.
