About the role
- Manage and support construction projects, coordinating with clients, project teams, and 3rd-party engineering review to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Support the project manager in overseeing pre-construction and on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
- Prepare, track, and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs); coordinate with vendors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain strict version control for project documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to troubleshoot materials and services issues and resolve on-site problems.
- Generate and distribute progress reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation to stakeholders.
- Assist Project Managers in developing and updating project schedules using tools like Procore or MS Project and identify potential delays.
- Ensure work meets project specifications, building codes, and industry standards through QA/QC coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as a project engineer in construction, with on-site project management experience.
- Experience managing RFIs and maintaining version control for project documents.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Experience with Procore.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site full-time and travel to project locations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: Experience with PV projects greater than 30MWdc.
- Preferred: Experience with Substation and/or Transmission Construction.
