About the role
- Identify issues and solutions on LTD claims that require follow-up
- Build strong working relationships with various stakeholders
- Contribute to business retention and growth
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members
- Review long term disability claims to identify non-litigated settlement opportunities
- Contact plan members to make a settlement offer
- Prepare all supporting paperwork for successful settlements
- Build engaging presentations and promote the settlement strategy with plan sponsors
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with DCMs and RCs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years disability management experience
- Expert knowledge of disability case management strategies
- Sound understanding of client financial arrangements
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
- Excellent written documentation and verbal communication skills
- Stellar customer service skills
- Strong organizational, analytical and decision making skills
- Excellent listening skills and capacity for empathy
- Ability to deal with stressful situations
- Ability to self-reflect and demonstrate personal characteristics that positively influence engagement and growth
