About the role
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Sarbanes - Oxley Act and Canadian Investor Confidence rules
- Attend internal control walkthrough meetings with relevant individuals and external auditors
- Design, execute and perform detailed testing of internal controls
- Evaluate internal controls, propose enhancements to controls and investigate weaknesses
- Perform analysis and needed remediation testing around identified control deficiencies
- Assist the Manager in keeping track of ICFR deliverables to the external auditors
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting or related discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting reporting and control deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications quickly
