About the role
- Provide primary legal coverage for the firm’s Investment Grade and High Yield Debt businesses
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders for debt securities issuances
- Review, draft, and negotiate transaction documentation
- Work closely with front office for execution of transactions
- Identify and advise on legal and regulatory issues
- Maintain form documentation for transactions
- Collaborate with Americas Division Legal Department
- Escalate material issues to senior attorneys and management
Requirements
- Admission to the New York bar and a member in good standing
- 3-5 years minimum experience in capital markets at a law firm and in-house legal department required
- Prior experience working in-house in a financial services institution is strongly preferred
- Excellent legal and analytical skills and expertise in capital markets transactions
- Significant experience in DCM/Investment Grade securities is preferred
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-volume, demanding environment
- Proven skills in legal and regulatory risk management
- Ability to articulate complex concepts at a practical level
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (including 3 days in office)
- Excellent communication, technical drafting, and issue-spotting skills
- Ability to think creatively and propose solutions
