Collaborate with key banking partners throughout North America, Europe & APAC to develop and deliver Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) product solutions.
Lead risk-focused initiatives with global financial partners to foster new business opportunities, innovate shared risk methodologies, and maintain compliance with agreed risk appetites.
Oversee and maintain relationships with key risk counterparts at partner banks and act as representative and negotiator of Stripe's risk approach.
Develop and manage projects and initiatives that support strong partner relationships regarding risk and deliver business and policy recommendations informing risk posture.
Enhance and develop partner-facing risk management capabilities and lead risk-related partnership and product discussions to align on risk strategies.
Identify and pursue business opportunities by creating innovative risk-aware solutions that expand product and user base through banking partnerships.
Coordinate priorities and execute initiatives with internal stakeholders including product, engineering, Risk, Fraud, Financial Crime & Supportability, Operations, Legal and Finance.
Requirements
12+ years experience in risk-related role at a bank or fintech with experience of card issuing programmes and credit/lending products.
A deep knowledge of risk and compliance topics for related products.
A deep understanding of Card Network requirements relating to card Issuing programs.
Ability to represent Stripe on risk, compliance, and product issues with banking partners to maintain positive relationships.
Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills (written and verbal) to drive understanding, collaboration, and issue resolution.
Curiosity and a partnership mindset focused on improving processes and scaling solutions.
First-hand experience in risk management at a bank or fintech.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing stakeholders across organizations and borders.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to thrive in uncertain and ambiguous environments.
Preferred: Experience of financial crime programmes including; KYC/B, AML, Sanctions and Terrorist Financing, with a practical knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
Preferred: A deep understanding of Consumer and SMB credit products including loans, merchant cash advance and card issuing programmes.
Preferred: Strong understanding of the complex risks and compliance requirements for managing credit, lending and card (debit, prepaid, charge and credit) issuing products.
Preferred: Market experience across North America with an understanding of how current and future regulations will impact Stripe and it’s banking partners.
Preferred: Experience of leveraging technology to support the development and embedment of scalable risk and operational processes.
