About the role
- Own and improve large-scale, multi-region AWS and Azure infrastructure supporting production workloads.
- Design, implement, and refine Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) to ensure consistent, repeatable environments.
- Reduce operational overhead by building automation tooling in Python and Bash.
- Strengthen access control models using IAM best practices, AWS Identity Center, and least-privilege principles.
- Operate and improve Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker-based container environments.
- Monitor performance, availability, and cloud spend — and drive measurable optimization initiatives.
- Identify technical debt, scalability constraints, and reliability gaps, and propose practical improvements.
- Modernize legacy workloads by containerizing and standardizing deployment patterns.
- Partner with Security to ensure infrastructure aligns with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and CMMC requirements.
- Contribute to documentation and infrastructure standards that make the platform easier to operate and scale.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps roles, with strong AWS expertise.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Solid understanding of IAM, SSO, and secure access design in multi-account environments.
- Experience managing Kubernetes/EKS clusters and containerized workloads at scale.
- Actively incorporate AI-assisted tools into daily engineering workflows to reduce manual effort, improve delivery speed, and enhance operational efficiency without compromising reliability or security.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, security groups).
- Experience working in structured, compliance-oriented environments.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for automation.
- Strong Linux troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
- Experience operating Elasticsearch or similar distributed systems.
- Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy infrastructure into more scalable patterns.
