Responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned projects to ensure profitability and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Track project costs, revenues, and subcontractor invoices from receipt through verification to payment.
Monitor and track the financial performance of assigned projects, including budgets, actuals, forecasts, and profitability.
Prepare and analyze project cost reports and financial statements to support project managers and senior leadership.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project setup, billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and contract terms.
Reconcile project-related transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in month-end and year-end close processes related to project accounting.
Maintain organized and auditable project financial records and support internal and external audits.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to development of best practices in project accounting.
Provide additional support to Accounting and Finance operations as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in a government contracting or professional services environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and project cost tracking.
Experience with subcontractor invoice processing and payment workflows.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Deltek Costpoint software.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with government contracts and compliance (e.g., FAR, DFARS). (Preferred)
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. (Preferred)
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems. (Preferred)
