💰 $110,000 - $115,000 per year

About the role

  • Ensure that the 63d RD’s facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations
  • Perform internal Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) assessments and support external EPAS assessments
  • Complete reports based on environmental assessment findings within an established timeframe
  • Perform Environmental Database data entry
  • Assist facilities in the timely correction of assessment findings
  • Perform Site Assistance Visits (SAV) at assigned RD facilities, as needed
  • Work closely with facilities to ensure hazardous materials and hazardous waste are stored and disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Assist facility personnel in creating hazardous waste inventories and coordinating hazardous waste disposal
  • Provide general environmental support activities to the 63d RD and serve as the technical point of contact for Environmental agencies, organizations, contractors, and facility personnel
  • Have familiarity with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the 63d RD ACES Region
  • Provide support and deliver outreach, education, and training to soldiers and civilians at military installations
  • Provide technical assistance necessary to fully support the 63d RD Environmental Division’s programs and associated projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of environmental compliance and inspection experience
  • HAZWOPER Certification (current or be able to obtain)
  • DoD Approved HW Manifest/DOT Certification and subsequent bi-annual refresher courses (current or be able to obtain)
  • If located in California, California Hazardous Waste Management Training covering 40 CFR 262.17 and 22 CCR 66262.34 and 66265.16 (current or be able to obtain)
  • Experience with MS Windows OS including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Certified Environmental Auditor, preferred
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate environmental regulatory requirements outlined in state and local regulations and site-specific environmental permits
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and meet strict government and regulatory reporting requirements.
