About the role
- Play a key role in supporting employee engagement and team performance, working with managers to identify challenges and implement practical solutions
- Actively coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in handling people matters, improving both individual and team performance
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance management
- Manage a varied ER caseload end-to-end, ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally compliant approach
- Work closely with People Partners and operational leaders to support day-to-day people activity across the business
- Support on M&A and TUPE activity, ensuring a smooth and compliant process and successful colleague integrations
- Ensure all ER cases are accurately documented and tracked, maintaining high standards of record keeping
- Proactively keep up to date with employment law and support the ongoing review of people policies and guidance
- Analyse people data and trends to identify risks and areas for improvement, escalating where appropriate
- Support onboarding activity by working with Talent Partners and managers to ensure new starters are set up for success
- Contribute to people projects and initiatives as required
- Collaborate with the wider People team to continuously improve the colleague experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in a People Advisor or similar role, with strong employee relations experience
- Confidence managing ER cases independently in a fast-paced environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to support and influence managers
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
