About the role

  • Responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more.
  • Expected to work approximately 40 hours per week for six months.
  • Participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required prior to the operation of vehicles or equipment.
  • Considerable overtime work is required, particularly during the winter months.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must live within reasonable proximity of the assigned workstation.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation.
  • Must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled.
