About the role

  • Support highway maintenance and operations in Mendon.
  • Repair guardrails, patch pavement, ditching, clearing brush, and picking up litter.
  • Play a critical role in plowing and salting during winter weather events.
  • Participate in a random drug and alcohol-testing program prior to operation of vehicles or operating equipment.
  • Overtime may be required, particularly during winter months.

Requirements

  • No education or experience required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Special Requirements: A valid driver's license is required.
  • An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation.
  • An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled.
