About the role
- Provide legal services to the Consumer Protection Unit (CPU)
- Investigate serious or widespread allegations of consumer deception
- File suit against those who have violated consumer protection and related laws
- Resolve consumer abuses to restore losses and deter future violations
- Issue consumer protection rules or guidance
- Appear before the Vermont Legislature on consumer protection issues
- Comment on federal laws and regulations of interest to Vermont consumers
- Conduct consumer education and work to encourage fair business practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in criminal justice, law, or related legal field AND three (3) or more years of experience performing paralegal duties.
- Six (6) or more years of experience performing paralegal duties.
