About the role

  • Join a Team Transforming Government Services by guiding a technology team that modernizes DMV interactions.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of critical DMV systems.
  • Ensure Operational Effectiveness of IT Services by managing day-to-day operations of ADS staff and adherence to IT operational procedures and policies.
  • Support the Deputy Director in enhancing service delivery through developing strategies and operational tactics.
  • Build collaborative partnerships across departments and agencies by fostering strong working relationships.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years or more experience in computer sciences, business administration, public administration, mathematics, technical operations management or providing supervision to staff within an IT environment.
  • OR Four (4) years or more in an IT Manager role with a combination of experience in computer operations, information technology management/administration or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of leading teams on medium to large-scale technology projects.
  • Deep understanding of application architecture, design, development, testing, and procurement.
  • Experience with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software and Agile development methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of software development platforms, programming languages, databases, frameworks, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity in QA automation and testing, particularly for large-scale transactional systems.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Strong relationship-building skills - you'll collaborate effectively within government agencies, with vendors, and with external partners.
