Project Manager – Mining

Manager

• Understand the client’s objectives and study definition guidelines.
• Drive the scope definition and execution planning for each study, working with a multi-disciplinary team to translate the client’s objectives and study definition guidelines into an actionable, controllable scope of work and plan of execution.
• Implement study management processes and procedures, including risk and value management, option identification/evaluation/selection, and assurance activities as required.
• Deliver integrated studies on time and within budget, while ensuring alignment between engineering, estimating, scheduling and risk from Order-of-Magnitude / Preliminary Economic Assessments through to Definitive Feasibility Studies.
• Serve as a technical peer reviewer or Qualified Person in the execution of the technical components of the work. Answer questions and give daily guidance and communications to the project team, thus developing the team’s technical competence.
• Assist the client with crafting the story of their studies, including engagement with other client stakeholders to present the progress and/or outcomes.
• Understand and implement various stage gate study standard processes.

Study Manager

Civil Engineer

• Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for projects including bridges and other transportation structures
• Work on plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, retaining walls, landslide repairs and public spaces
• Provide resources and schedules in response to specified completion dates and technical applications
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates and evaluate all project progress and recommend changes, if needed, in final procedures
• Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects

Structural Engineer

Electrical Engineer

• Assists the business development team in new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs and participates in project interviews and presentations.
• Manages technical project process and scope of work within own discipline; reviews and tracks scope, schedule, and budgeted hours; finds and resolves all inconsistencies with project manager.
• Delegates tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline as appropriate.
• Follows quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority.
• Builds and maintains strong client relations; able to understand and articulate project and design requirements, progress, challenges, and troubleshooting to clients and technical staff.
• Leads technical discussions and mechanical workgroups with project stakeholders as their trusted advisor, identifies key requirements, and adapts design accordingly to meet the project objectives.
• Coordinates well with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
• Acts as supervisor and resource to technical design team; supports and assists staff education, training, and development.
• Actively participates in the data center engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge, stay up-to-date date with new and upcoming requirements and technologies, and strives for professional growth (e.g. attends meetings / seminars / conferences and/or write articles for trade magazines.)
• Identifies opportunities to improve and standardize project deliverables (details, specifications etc.) across Stantec MCF business centers.
• Contributes to development of design guides, technical memos, calculation templates etc. as they pertain to data center design.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Mission Critical

Architect

• Assist project teams in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats
• Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components
• Participate in design critiques and pin-ups
• Prepare and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details
• Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent
• Assist in contract administration tasks
• Attend project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants
• Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment

Senior Associate, Healthcare Mechanical Engineer

Engineer

• Prepare structural design calculations, plans and contract documents in accordance with applicable design and agency standards (i.e. GDOT or SCDOT, AASHTO, ACI, AISC, etc.)
• Develop plan submissions for all manner of structural transportation projects
• Perform structural analysis of new designs and existing structures (bridges and other transportation structures)
• Lead and review conceptual design alternatives to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions
