About the role
- Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and develop Stantec’s high-performance culture focused on talent, innovation, productivity, excellence, and business performance
- Build and develop technical delivery teams across the BC, Delivery Center (DC), Global Delivery Center (GDC), and across E&R to ensure we have the right people involved to make projects successful
- Lead or assign responsibility for technical project delivery, QAQC, discipline excellence, subject matter expertise, standardization, and best practices
- Inspire, motivate, and hold the team accountable for the delivery of innovative design solutions
- Promote strong interaction with TPLs for resource mentorship, development and project delivery
- Represent the BC at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences
- Build strong partnerships with business leaders in other BCs and Sectors to foster collaboration, grow new expertise, increase work share opportunities, and drive growth
- Work with client technical representatives and quality control teams to ensure that engineering and design services meet expectations
- Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with professional engineering regulatory bodies in the jurisdictions where the Business Center practices
- Support projects in meeting budget, schedule, and technical quality with appropriate resources
- Establish annual goals and objectives for direct reports and monitor progress
- Provide guidance to BC Leadership on training requirements for technical groups
- Oversee hiring, performance reviews, and administrative functions and influence compensation decisions of your team
- Advise BC Leadership and other teams on engineering standards and work practices
- Participate in BC leadership team planning and goal setting
- Lead and/or support the development of engineering work processes, standards, and quality procedures
- Develop and ensure consistency in inter-discipline workflows, coordination, and quality procedures
- Assist in the coordination of technical audits and monitor, verify, and report on team performance
- Lead continuous improvement efforts through lessons learned and best practices
Requirements
- Active P. Eng. or P.L.Eng registration with a professional engineering society in eastern Canada (e.g., PEGNL, Engineers PEI, Engineers NS, APEGNB, OIQ, PEO, APEGM), or ability to become registered with same
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the Energy & Resources industry
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field
