About the role
- Assist with project drawing packages including site analysis, design development documentation, construction drawings and specifications on a wide variety of projects under guidance from senior LATs and Landscape Architects.
- Participate in client meetings and prepare agendas, schedules and meeting minutes.
- Conduct and participate in site meetings and conduct site reviews and inspections, coordinating work with the engineering team, construction crews, clients, consultants, sub-consultants, and subcontractors according to schedule.
- Assist with Field Work tasks including investigating/verifying existing field conditions for inspections, site documentation, quantity measurement, and quality verification, etc.
- Assist Landscape Architects and the team with project management and contract administration tasks such as Progress claims/invoices, Supplemental Instructions, Contemplated Change Notices, Change Orders, and Change Directives.
- Coordinate inspections with municipalities, submitting all required documentation, drawings and data.
Requirements
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- General knowledge of landscape construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
- Ability to participate in collaborative project team settings.
- Ability to identify, discuss and solve technical issues.
- Ability to understand and apply municipal standards to development of design drawings and during construction installations
- Experience in preparing contract documents, specifications and working drawings.
- Strong time management, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills.
- A high level of proficiency in AutoCAD with Civil 3D and LandFX as valuable assets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, and other recent modeling and rendering software.
- Knowledge of City of Edmonton Design and Construction Standards would be an asset
- Experience in Revit and other BIM technologies are not required, but would be an asset
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive to and engage in field work/site visits.
- Membership or ability to become a member with the AALA (Alberta Association of Landscape Architects) and/or CSLA (Canadian Society of Landscape Architects) is an asset but not required.
