About the role

  • Participate in all phases of project development: schematic design to contract administration and close-out
  • Prepare client presentation materials, design development documentation, site analysis, construction documentation, contract administration, and submissions on a wide variety of projects under guidance from senior landscape architects
  • Identify and solve technical issues
  • Conduct and participate in site meetings and conduct site reviews and inspections and coordinate work with construction crews, clients, consultants, sub-consultants, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with project consultants
  • Coordinate internally with design team and construction staff
  • Assist landscape architects and other designers with project management and contract administration
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing materials
  • Coordinate and schedule multiple field construction milestones and team mates to achieve results

Requirements

  • Excellence in AutoCAD/ Civil3D and LandFX 2018 or higher, Bluebeam, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other graphics software
  • Experience with Revit/ BIM360 is an asset
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills
  • Forward thinker with ability to seek out and adapt to innovative technologies and processes
  • Excellent file management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively on a team within a collaborative environment and multi-task effectively
  • Experience in preparing contract documents, specifications and working drawings
  • Construction/Field experience with the ability to collaborate with clients and contractors
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to and from site
  • Membership or ability to become a member with the AALA (Alberta Association of Landscape Architects) and/or CSLA (Canadian Society of Landscape Architects) is an asset but not required
  • College diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology / University degree in design related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of a mixture of office and field experience and project management experience
  • 5+ years Construction knowledge and contract administration experience
  • Local knowledge of plant material and City of Edmonton and other standards.
