About the role

  • Manage the efficient and effective operations of pharmacy services.
  • Supervise and manage associated personnel staff.
  • Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures.
  • Creates new policies and procedures.
  • Designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design, implement, and monitor pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes for patients.
  • Supervises and manages the technical support staff and staff clinical pharmacists.
  • Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions designed to improve member/client satisfaction; streamline processes between organizations for improved service delivery.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to address issues related to patient drug therapy through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making.
  • Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency (Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership) completion required
  • Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations
  • Knowledge of Title 22 regulations
  • Knowledge of eMS regulations, both state and federal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Skill in the use of establishing policies and in writing procedures and communication to coworkers.
  • Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy required within 120 Days
