About the role
- Manage the efficient and effective operations of pharmacy services.
- Supervise and manage associated personnel staff.
- Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures.
- Creates new policies and procedures.
- Designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control.
- Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel.
- Collaborates with the leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement, and monitor pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes for patients.
- Supervises and manages the technical support staff and staff clinical pharmacists.
- Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions designed to improve member/client satisfaction; streamline processes between organizations for improved service delivery.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to address issues related to patient drug therapy through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making.
- Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university required
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required or PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency (Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership) completion required
- Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations
- Knowledge of Title 22 regulations
- Knowledge of eMS regulations, both state and federal.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Skill in the use of establishing policies and in writing procedures and communication to coworkers.
- Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy.
- Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
- Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy required within 120 Days
