Conduct research analyzing bills and policies to identify legislation that helps or hurts Illinois taxpayers
Uncover information generally unavailable to the public held by state and local government units
Work as part of the Illinois Policy Institute’s policy and litigation team to support research and litigation efforts
Collaborate with partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff; interview process with both partners and Stand Together
Participate in virtual professional development sessions and attend a 2-day in-person summit in Arlington, VA
Work remotely for the duration of the internship with the option to work onsite in the Chicago office
Requirements
Geographically located within the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. through the duration of the program
Must be available every other Thursday (Jan. 22, Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 12, March 26, and April 9) from 1-3:30 PM ET for virtual professional development
Must attend the in-person summit at Stand Together's Headquarters in Arlington, VA Feb. 6–Feb. 7
Submit a cover letter detailing qualifications and interest and a writing sample with your application
Open to part-time (24 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) interns
Benefits
$7,500 stipend for full-time interns or $5,500 stipend for part-time interns
Paid 12-week experiential internship program
