About the role
- Conduct research analyzing bills and policies to identify legislation that helps or hurts Illinois taxpayers
- Uncover information generally unavailable to the public held by state and local government units
- Work as part of the Illinois Policy Institute’s policy and litigation team to support research and litigation efforts
- Collaborate with partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff; interview process with both partners and Stand Together
- Participate in virtual professional development sessions and attend a 2-day in-person summit in Arlington, VA
- Work remotely for the duration of the internship with the option to work onsite in the Chicago office
Requirements
- Geographically located within the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. through the duration of the program
- Must be available every other Thursday (Jan. 22, Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 12, March 26, and April 9) from 1-3:30 PM ET for virtual professional development
- Must attend the in-person summit at Stand Together's Headquarters in Arlington, VA Feb. 6–Feb. 7
- Submit a cover letter detailing qualifications and interest and a writing sample with your application
- Open to part-time (24 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) interns

- $7,500 stipend for full-time interns or $5,500 stipend for part-time interns
