About the role

  • Develop and implement annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements using Business Central
  • Develop and implement ad hoc reporting using PowerBI
  • Responsible for preparation of year-end working paper submissions
  • Responsible for dividend analysis, recommendations and processing
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliation and identify cause of variances following up with team members as necessary
  • Prepare and review monthly cash flow requirements for multiple entities
  • Analyze and recommend monthly intercompany settlement of transactions
  • Support calculation of intercompany sales support
  • Investigate Canadian and foreign tax issues as required
  • Maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure
  • Lead and/or participate in the development and testing of new functions within Business Central
  • Maintain relationships with external professional groups such as accounting firms, financial institutions, insurance brokers and legal advisors
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of existing policies, processes, and systems with a focus on automating, standardizing, and implementing best practices globally
  • Assist to develop and support corporate short and long-term operational strategies
  • Support and enforce organizational policies, procedures, values, and culture

Requirements

  • CPA required (no exceptions)
  • Minimum 4-6 years progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years management experience
  • Good knowledge base of accounting software application(s)
  • High level of efficiency with MS Excel
  • Business Central experience an asset
  • PowerBI experience an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience considered
