About the role
- Oversee SPUR’s individual membership program and grow the mid-level donor base
- Implement annual appeals and identify new donors
- Steward existing donors and utilize data for decision-making
- Develop membership renewal, recapture, and acquisition strategies
- Manage a portfolio of 75-100 mid-level donors
- Support Silver SPUR Awards fundraising efforts
- Develop metrics for individual membership campaigns
- Assist in developing donor reports for fundraising
- Maintain visibility and availability in the community
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in membership operations
- Strong track record of relationship-based business development, fundraising or marketing
- 3-4 years of experience in cultivating and soliciting individual gifts
- 3-4 years of experience in managing memberships
- Interest in urban and public/civic affairs
- Comfort and willingness to ask for money
- Self-directing initiative
- Keen sense of judgment to handle complex donor relationships
- Proven effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to existing systems and improve upon them
- Proficient use of Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
