About the role

  • Design and build scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails, Python, GraphQL, SQL
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve member growth
  • Expand and maintain existing member growth infrastructure
  • Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews, and tech debt prioritization
  • Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
  • Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
  • Build and maintain integrations with data warehouses or external APIs
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on backend development
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, C#, or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools such as: Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable
  • Experience with containerization or cloud infrastructure tools like Docker or AWS
  • Experience designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or Snowflake
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and identify root causes
