Data Analyst

• Own and maintain the operational reporting suite in Power BI, ensuring outputs directly support EBITDA, volume, and cash performance management, covering physician performance, front desk metrics, scheduling efficiency, and more
• Partner with practice VPs, operations leads, and clinical staff to understand what they need, translate that into data requirements, and deliver reports they'll actually use
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, and validate data from multiple source systems
• Make clear, actionable recommendations based on data, including quantified impact on revenue, EBITDA, operational efficiency and strategic business decision making
• Build and document repeatable data pipelines that support consistent, trustworthy reporting across practices
• Monitor data quality and flag anomalies proactively; resolve inconsistencies at the source where possible, and drive toward a single source of truth
• Deliver ad hoc analysis alongside production reporting, and do both on time
• Help set standards for how we build, document, and maintain reports; drive standardization of metric definitions and reporting across the network to enable consistent performance management

Senior Data Analyst – Operations

• Design and maintain RCM dashboards and reports in Power BI covering charges, payments, adjustments, denial rates, A/R aging, days in A/R, and payer performance
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries in Snowflake to extract and model data from billing systems and practice management platforms
• Partner with RCM leadership, billing teams, and finance to define KPIs, understand what's driving variances, and communicate findings clearly
• Build out payer-level and procedure-level analyses to identify leakage, underpayments, and denial trends
• Monitor data quality across billing feeds and flag anomalies before they become problems downstream
• Deliver recurring production reports and ad hoc analysis on time, with context, not just numbers

Medical Billing and Coding

• The Surgical Coder for Spine is responsible for accurate and compliant coding of complex orthopedic spine procedures across all care settings.
• Code high-complexity spine procedures (e.g., fusions, decompressions, instrumentation, revisions).
• Verify all documentation is complete and compliant.
• Assign codes for reimbursements, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing guidelines.
• Follow coding conventions and ensure accurate assignment of CPT (including add-on codes, modifiers, bundling rules).
• Validate levels, laterality, approach (anterior/posterior).
• Identify missed billable components (e.g., additional levels, hardware, biologics).
• Query provider for any necessary clarification related to unclear, unspecified or missing/incomplete documentation.
• Apply payer-specific coding rules and edits.
• Research, analyze, recommend, and facilitate a plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.

Surgical Coder – Spine Specialty

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Serve as finance partner to the Operations team and its Practice Leadership, building trusted relationships and providing proactive financial support
• Participate in regular business reviews with VP-Level stakeholders to report on financial performance and surface actionable insights
• Support procurement-related financial analysis, including evaluation of medical supply spend, vendor cost trends, and opportunities for cost optimization
• Analyze physician, clinic, ASC, and service line performance to identify opportunities to improve patient access, conversion, throughput, and revenue generation
• Develop and maintain operational scorecards linking financial performance to key business drivers including visits, surgeries, imaging, therapy, staffing, physician productivity, and capacity utilization

• Monitor coding productivity and quality on a daily and weekly basis.

• Lead corrective action plans when audit results fall below target thresholds.
• Stay current with CMS, payer, and specialty-specific coding updates.

• Identify potential payer underpayments by reviewing payment data, contractual allowed amounts, fee schedules, EOBs/ERAs, payer policies, claim history, and expected reimbursement calculations
• Use Rivet, Modernizing Medicine, Athena, Excel, and payer portals to research reimbursement variances
• Validate underpayment opportunities by comparing actual payments to contracted rates
