About the role
- Be responsible for the overall post-sales success of a customer and will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in multiple areas including networking, messaging, and middleware technologies
- Developing scripts to compare configurations or automate routine tasks and writing integration code in Java or C#
- Significant work will be related to assisting customers in the monitoring and management of their estate of deployed Solace products including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and responding to alerts
- Travel occasionally based on customer needs, sometimes globally
- Be required to develop best practices documents or other documents for the customer to facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing
- Documentation and communication skills must be exceptional, as well as the ability to manage customer expectations
- Work autonomously and with minimal direction
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar technical degree; Masters in Science, Business, or Engineering an asset
- 5+ Years of Experience in application development, integration or system Messaging Middleware / Integration
- Technical knowledge of messaging products such as IBM MQ, TIBCO EMS/RV/BW and/or Open Source messaging such as Kafka, Rabbit, ActiveMQ, etc. would be beneficial to the role
- Understanding of SOA and JMS are essential and working knowledge of MQTT, AMQP, REST, and/or JavaScript, would all be assets
- Experience providing application, hardware, and/or Cloud platform support is desired
- Some experience troubleshooting technical issues, including application deadlock, thread issues, and configuration errors, is expected
- Experience in a role response for Solace hardware appliance operations would be a plus
- Experience developing, integrating, and troubleshooting Java and/or C/C++/C# code is required
- Any development experience using sockets, messaging APIs, multithreaded and distributed applications would be a plus
- Good knowledge of network layers and topologies as well as general understanding of routers, switches, gateways, and other networking gear and how they impact performance is beneficial
