About the role
- Identify, prospect and sign new commercial partnerships with: UK agricultural merchants, traders and cooperatives UK and international CPG corporates with UK supply chains
- Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, pitching, negotiation and closing
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline aligned with revenue targets
- Represent Soil Capital at industry events, trade shows and partner meetings
- Manage and grow a portfolio of UK accounts post-signature
- Launch and run programmes on the ground, working closely with partners and internal teams
- Act as the main point of contact for UK partners, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term engagement
- Maintain a strong field presence, including regular visits to partners and farms
- Bring insights from the ground to inform product, commercial and go-to-market strategy
- Contribute to the development of the UK market strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in: Sales, business development or commercial roles
- Agri-food, agriculture, commodities, sustainability, or related sectors
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of closing B2B deals
- Solid account management capabilities and relationship-building skills
- Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with a broader team
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong ownership mentality
- Comfortable in a hybrid role blending office, field and client meetings
- Pragmatic, hands-on and results-driven
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders
- Good understanding of UK agriculture, including: Farming systems and supply chains
- Ability to engage credibly with agricultural stakeholders on the ground
