About the role

  • Oversee all aspects of SMUD’s Renewable and Carbon credit portfolio ensuring regulatory compliance while maximizing the value of the portfolio
  • Manage SMUD’s Renewable Energy credit (REC) portfolio to maximize the value and ensure compliance with California’s RPS requirements
  • Develop and implement long-term compliance and portfolio strategies
  • Provide supervisory oversight for SMUD’s RPS and Carbon portfolios
  • Collaborate with budget and finance teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, electrical engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • At least five (5+) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience conducting forecasting and economic analysis, including at least five (5) years of supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling work activities; methods and techniques for training staff; procedures for evaluating and recording performance results, recruiting, screening, and hiring; policies and procedures related to supervisory practices and employee rights; budget administration and business strategic planning and development; procedures and practices for project budget management; and concepts for cost control and project scheduling.
