About the role

  • Oversee the reconstruction and delivery of a key section of the SZC works.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across all construction activities.
  • Work closely with contractors, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Lead tactical logistics planning and stakeholder engagement throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with contractors, regulators, and government bodies to ensure project success.
  • Drive innovation and embed lessons learned to ensure world-class project delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV installations
  • Proven background in electrical substation construction and commissioning, typically involving HV projects
  • Witness electrical systems being installed, tested, and commissioned to specification
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Strong understanding of electrical design and equipment testing
  • Experience witnessing electrical systems being installed, tested, and commissioned to specification
  • SMSTS, CSCS -site manager card- essential
  • Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, or other related field desirable.
