About the role

  • Reporting directly to the General Counsel, a substantial part of this role is working with Data Privacy matters together with the Senior Privacy Counsel. You will be responsible for keeping both Siteimprove, our Partners, and our services compliant with global privacy laws and handling various customer requests and DPA negotiations. In this role, you will also work closely with our GTM teams to expand our customer base by negotiating various commercial contracts and public tenders.
  • Serve as a primary legal authority on global data privacy matters, partnering closely with the Senior Privacy Counsel to interpret, apply, and operationalize global regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, and emerging frameworks).
  • Lead end to end management of complex DPA negotiations, high risk customer escalations, and cross border data transfer strategies.
  • Shape and maintain Siteimprove’s privacy governance model, ensuring scalable processes and compliance frameworks across global operations.
  • Independently lead and negotiate complex, high value commercial agreements, enterprise SaaS contracts, partner frameworks, procurement agreements, and public tenders.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to GTM leadership, advising on deal structure, risk allocation, and commercial opportunities to support growth targets.
  • Develop contracting playbooks, risk guidelines, and negotiation strategies to enable more efficient and consistent commercial outcomes.
  • Lead cross departmental legal and compliance initiatives involving Finance, Customer Support, Marketing, IT, Product, and Security.
  • Assess legal and operational risks across functions and design practical, business aligned solutions to mitigate them.
  • Drive legal enablement efforts, including training, policy development, and process optimization initiatives that improve organizational maturity.
  • Oversee aspects of corporate governance and global compliance programs related to privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support M&A activities by conducting due diligence, evaluating risk, and contributing to integration planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or inhouse role, preferably with substantial exposure to EU regulatory environments.
  • Master’s degree in Law (Cand.jur, Cand.merc.jur, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success navigating complex, crossfunctional legal challenges in a fastpaced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.
  • Strong independent judgment and ability to operate with minimal supervision on complex, highimpact matters.
