About the role
- Lead the identification and qualification of new business opportunities through market research, outbound calls, emails, and networking
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, nurturing leads through the sales funnel to generate qualified sales opportunities
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and provide support throughout the sales cycle
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies and campaigns that drive lead generation and business growth
- Utilize CRM systems to manage and track leads, ensuring data accuracy and reporting on lead progress and pipeline status
- Provide feedback on prospect needs, challenges, and buying behaviors to inform product development, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to effectively engage with prospects and stay competitive
- Meet or exceed lead generation and sales qualification targets, contributing directly to the overall revenue generation strategy
- Mentor and guide junior business development representatives, sharing best practices and providing coaching to improve team performance
- Participate in sales and business development meetings to contribute to strategic planning and goal setting
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales development, or a related commercial role within FinTech, financial services, SaaS, or capital markets.
- Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and pipeline generation , with a track record of meeting or exceeding lead and opportunity targets.
- Strong understanding of buy-side financial markets (asset managers, asset owners, insurers, or related ecosystems) and ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Solutions teams to align outreach, messaging, and handoff processes.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members, with the ability to lead by example through strong communication , organization, and CRM discipline.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Flexibility to attend SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy.
