About the role
- Support the company's contracts function in managing government and other contracts throughout their lifecycle.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including government, commercial, and subcontractor contracts.
- Provide guidance on FAR/DFARS, export control, intellectual property, and other regulations to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
- Review new contracts, modifications, and subcontracts for accuracy and flag compliance and business risks.
- Interpret complex contractual terms and provide clear guidance and recommendations for internal teams.
- Act as a point of contact with customers and subcontractors on contract matters; partner with sales and compliance teams.
- Maintain contract files, databases, and compliance logs to ensure records are accurate, complete, and audit ready.
- Assist with contract closeout activities and improve processes.
- Report to the Director of Legal with dotted line reporting to the Contracts Manager.
- Travel to the LA office as needed to ensure alignment and efficient operation within the overall team.
Requirements
- A bachelors degree required, preferably in business administration, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years in contracts administration, preferably in defense, aerospace, or government contracting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, export control, intellectual property, and government property management.
- Familiarity with ITAR and EAR (preferred).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- All employment contingent upon successful clearance of a background check.
- Ability to travel to the LA office as needed.
