About the role
- Content Management: Edit, proofread, and correct documents (reports, briefings, correspondence, etc.) for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Visual Communications: Provide technical expertise in computer graphics and digital photography, creating and/or modifying visual aids for presentations and publications.
- SharePoint Administration: Assist with the maintenance and improvement of SharePoint sites, ensuring content is organized, accessible, and up-to-date. (Specific tasks will depend on organizational SharePoint permissions and structure.)
- Knowledge Management: Contribute to the organization's knowledge management initiatives by ensuring information is readily available and easily retrievable.
- Compliance: Ensure all communications and publications adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and security requirements.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and refine content.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications, technical writing, editing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
- Working knowledge of computer graphics software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Familiarity with digital photography principles and techniques.
- Experience with SharePoint administration and content management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience with DoD publications and style guides (e.g., AR 25-1).
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508 compliance).
- Experience with video editing software.
