About the role
- Counsel is responsible for providing legal opinions for various corporate-related matters.
- Prepares, reviews, and vets corporate contracts and agreements of moderate to high complexity.
- Provides legal advice to the corporation in the areas of legislative interpretation, regulatory compliance, and contractual issues.
- Conducts legal research and prepares legal opinions as directed.
- Maintains knowledge of insurance law and legal trends.
- Oversees external counsel to ensure adherence to standards.
Requirements
- A Law Degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
- Called to the Bar in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Member in good standing of the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
- Experience in the general practice of law with a focus on corporate insurance law.
- Must have successfully completed articles and be a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
