Payroll

• Refine payroll implementation processes and continually iterate to ensure ongoing compliance and customer satisfaction
• Adapt payroll processes to scale, meeting defined efficiency metrics without sacrificing compliance and customer experience
• Diagnose errors in Payroll runs, drive the immediate solution for customers, and own long-term solutions for preventing errors in the future through product and process improvements
• Own the delivery of accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll runs for every Seso customer
• Deliver payroll and tax guidance in a customer-facing capacity, as needed to support successful customer onboarding and to gain prospect confidence to adopt Seso
• Serve as a partner to Seso’s Product team to ensure compliant build of our software platform and to continually improve the customer experience
• Hire, train, and manage Payroll operations team members including Payroll Implementation Managers, Payroll Clerks and Payroll Support, all reporting to you
• Ultimately responsible for all accuracy and compliance for our payroll customers
• Ability to travel 25% of the time

Head of Payroll Operations

• Processing weekly or bi-weekly payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data into a standardized spreadsheet
• Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
• Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
• Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
• Maintaining and improving all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
• Supporting the payroll product and GTM teams with additional projects

Payroll Clerk

Implementation Specialist

• Own the Payroll Implementation process, from importing a customer’s previous payroll history to configuring their tax setup.
• Iterate creatively on both the product and the process to ultimately deliver a best in class experience to our customers.
• Maintain a high level of data integrity for the Customer Success team by auditing clients’ payroll data (including tax filings and imported payroll history from a client’s previous provider) and ensuring Seso is setup to file with the appropriate tax agencies
• Own the relationship with customers as they work toward going live on Seso payroll. Be their biggest advocate within Seso.
• Help clients through their first payroll run and make sure they have the knowledge to run future payrolls independently
• Perform detailed audits of historical data, company level data and employee level data to ensure accuracy and credibility throughout the Implementation
• Manage client expectations - Serve as client advocate within Seso to resolve any concerns that may detract from an optimal client experience
• You will be coordinating across all departments internally and externally including Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, Partnerships, Finance, and Legal
• You will work very closely with leadership to identify and anticipate the risk, opportunities, and key gaps to make our partners successful
• Write the playbooks for systems and processes to scale future partners

Payroll Implementation Manager

Full-stack Engineer

• Build, test, ship, and maintain high-quality software across Seso’s platform
• Work with Product and Design to turn customer and business problems into simple, reliable product experiences
• Contribute across the stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud infrastructure
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in thoughtful code reviews
• Improve existing systems by reducing complexity, improving performance, and increasing reliability
• Use modern AI tools to improve your own engineering speed and quality across coding, debugging, testing, documentation, refactoring, and technical exploration
• Experiment with tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Codex-style agents, or other AI development environments
• Create effective prompts, workflows, and review practices that help you produce better software faster
• Use AI responsibly — validating outputs, checking edge cases, writing tests, and ensuring generated code meets Seso’s standards
• Help the engineering team learn practical ways to use AI tools without compromising quality, security, or maintainability
• Help design and build product features that use LLMs, agents, structured data extraction, summarization, recommendations, search, classification, document understanding, or other AI-enabled capabilities
• Integrate with AI APIs and platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar tools
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, reliability, cost, latency, safety, and user impact
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to decide when AI is the right solution — and when traditional software is better
• Write tests and evaluation workflows that help ensure software and AI-enabled features behave reliably
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, logging, monitoring, and incident prevention
• Think carefully about privacy, security, permissions, and data handling
• Document technical decisions clearly so future teammates can understand and maintain your work
• Work closely with teammates across Engineering, Product, Design, Customer Experience, and other business functions
• Communicate clearly in both English and Spanish
• Bring high agency, curiosity, and a bias toward action
• Ask good questions, challenge assumptions respectfully, and help the team move faster without cutting corners
