Hardware Engineer

• Lead design and system integration of electrical components in autonomous sidewalk delivery robots, including compute, sensors, motor control, battery management, and safety systems.
• Own and define the electrical architecture of robot platforms and standardize power systems, compute platforms, sensor integration, and communication interfaces.
• Develop and maintain architectural standards and design frameworks across robot platforms to ensure consistency, scalability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate closely with software, firmware, mechanical, autonomy, and manufacturing teams to align design choices, interface definitions, and system-level integration.

• Work on the core software components that power Serve and enable robotics application development.
• Write high quality embedded software for next generation Serve platforms.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Compliance

• Serve as a subject matter expert on security best practices, compliance frameworks and standards such as SOX Section 404 IT General Controls, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA.
• Maintain security documentation including, but not limited to: information security policies and procedures, risk assessment methodology and treatment plans, privacy and business impact assessments (BIA/PIA), and compliance audit procedures.
• Manage Serve’s security awareness program platform and quarterly phishing simulation campaigns and reporting.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments of third-party vendor services and establish corrective action plans for risk mitigation.
• Support periodic IT audits for Serve critical business systems to ensure compliance with IT General control (ITGC) requirements.
• Track and manage audit findings and remediation activities to ensure timely resolution.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to define and implement security best practices across Serve’s cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
• Support threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews for key components of our platform.
• Develop, maintain, and improve automation tools for secure configuration management and continuous monitoring (e.g., image scanning, IAM policy enforcement).
• Assist in implementing runtime security measures for our containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Act as the primary point of contact for a third-party remote operations vendor, ensuring alignment on performance expectations, training standards, and operational compliance.
• Oversee the incident management process, including root cause analysis, documentation, escalation coordination, and timely resolution.
• Collaborate with the vendor to implement and maintain standardized training and certification processes for remote operators.

• Own regular reporting on remote operations performance, utilizing ThoughtSpot for data visualization and trend analysis.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, & SKILLS
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in operations, vendor management, or service delivery in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
• Proven ability to manage third-party vendor relationships and drive accountability
• Strong analytical skills; proficient in Google Sheets, Jira, and ThoughtSpot (or equivalent BI tools)
• Experience designing and improving operational processes using data and stakeholder input
• Familiarity with change management and document control practices in operational or technical environments
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey insights and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences
• Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on operational demands
• Travel to visit vendor sites once a quarter is expected.
